A Sense of Achievement

I can’t believe it’s three months since I last wrote a blog. At least I have some pretty good excuses for neglecting my website: moving house, complete make-over of the new apartment, holidays, family visits and illness (a holiday in Majorca that ended up with a week in hospital!) But if my weekly blog has been neglected, my novel has been even more so. I opened the Word Document today and saw it was June when I worked on it last! It’s said to be right up there with death and divorce: the stress of moving house. Our house has been on the market for three and a half years. “It’s a bad time to sell.” Everyone says, shaking their heads. And with the benefit of hindsight we realise we should have gone on the market five years previously. Or even earlier. The children left home years ago. Except for Christmastime, three bedrooms stand empty and forlorn. Well, maybe not quite empty. Your children may leave home but their stuff will stay with you….”
